Our board-certified team specializes in
Our board-certified team specializes in helping individuals overcome fears, phobias & anxiety of all kinds, and
- Though a variety of potent drugs are often prescribed for driving fear, their side effects and/or withdrawal symptoms can be severe.
- Moreover, drugs do not cure your phobia.
At best they temporarily suppress the symptoms through chemical interaction. The good news is that the modern, fast, drug-free processes of the CTRN Phobia Clinic will train your mind to feel completely different about driving a motorized vehicle, eliminating the fear so it never haunts you again. If you are living with driving fear, what is the real cost to your health, your career or school, and to your family life? Avoiding the issue indefinitely would mean resigning yourself to living in fear, missing out on priceless life experiences big and small, living a life that is just a shadow of what it will be when the problem is gone. For anyone earning a living, the financial toll of this phobia is incalculable. Living with fear means you can never concentrate fully and give your best. Lost opportunities. Poor performance or grades. Promotions that pass you by. Your phobia could cost you tens, even hundreds of thousands of dollars over your lifetime, let alone the cost to your health and quality of life. Now driving fear can be gone for less than the price of a round-trip airline ticket.
Like all fears and phobias, driving fear is created by the unconscious mind as a protective mechanism. At some point in your past, there was probably an event linking driving a motorized vehicle and emotional trauma. Whilst the original catalyst may have been a real-life scare of some kind, the condition can also be triggered by myriad, benign events like movies, TV, or perhaps seeing someone else experience trauma. But so long as the negative association is powerful enough, the unconscious mind thinks: This is very dangerous. How do I keep myself from getting in this kind of situation again? I know, I'll attach terrible feelings to driving a motorized vehicle, that way I'll steer clear in future and so be safe. Just like that a phobia is born. Attaching emotions to situations is one of the primary ways that humans learn. Sometimes we just get the wiring wrong.
- The actual phobia manifests itself in different ways.
- Some sufferers experience it almost all the time, others just in response to direct stimuli.
Everyone has their own unique formula for when and how to feel bad. We won't actually do anything: you will. Our practitioners will teach you to regain control of your emotions and conquer your driving fear. Working with us, you'll rapidly train your unconscious mind to connect different, positive feelings to the stimuli that triggers the phobia. And you will learn quickly now to stop the root cause of your fear: those awful thoughts, images, movies or sounds. We don't use hypnosis, but our modern techniques are equally relaxing and enjoyable. Clients immediately notice that they feel different. Once the unconscious mind feels safe and learns how to respond appropriately, it will always know - so the results are permanent.
Your driving fear is gone. Forever. Can we rid you of a debilitating phobia after just a few hours of work? Is this just a quick fix? At CTRN we've helped hundreds of people beat their phobias. Here's just one testimonial: The CTRN Phobia Clinic™ is entirely results-focused, so we charge you for the result you want: freedom from driving fear - regardless of how long it takes. The process usually requires no more than ten hours. In exceptional cases we can achieve a favorable result in two to three. But because we guarantee the outcome, we will work with you for as long as it takes - five minutes, five hours, five weeks. We work highly effectively by telephone. This allows our clients far more flexibility in scheduling appointments, and the results are every bit as good as meeting in person. You'll need to play your part.

Our board-certified team specializes in helping individuals overcome fears, phobias & anxiety of all kinds, and is particularly focused on problems such as driving fear. With a success rate close to 100% we offer a lifetime guarantee to our clients. To learn more about our 24-Hour Phobia Clinic, please call us at 1-800-828-7484 (+1-650-249-5120 from outside the USA) for a complimentary consultation to discuss the problem, or contact us using the form below. To add insult to injury, most phobia therapies take require years of treatment and sometimes even require the patient to be repeatedly exposed to their fear. We believe that this is unnecessary and often makes the condition worse. And it is particularly cruel as driving fear can be eliminated with the right methods and just 24 hours of commitment. Phobias can cause panic attacks and keep people apart from loved ones and business associates. Symptoms typically include shortness of breath, rapid breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and overall feelings of dread, although everyone experiences driving fear in their own way and may have different symptoms. I've been driving for almost 10 years
I've been driving for almost 10 years. Recently I have developed a fear of driving, and I don't understand why. How can I help myself overcome the fear? I can't make specific recommendations without talking with you personally and obtaining more information about your fear. But I'll mention some possibilities which you can pursue or discard as you deem appropriate. If a client came to me with a similar problem, I'd want to know more about the circumstances surrounding the development of the fear, as those might influence the treatment. Even though you don't understand why your fear has developed, I'd recommend spending some time trying to examine possible causes. One benefit of consulting with a therapist is that someone else can often provide a different perspective than our own.
- Friends or family, of course, can also serve that purpose.
- Sometimes we don't notice something about ourselves or our circumstances, or make certain connections, until someone else points us in the right direction.
- For instance, could your fear have developed after you or someone you know had a car accident? Or perhaps you could have reached the age that someone else (such as an older relative) was when he or she was in an accident, and be unconsciously harboring the fear that you will suffer a similar fate? Another possibility might be that your eyesight has changed, making it more difficult to see while you're driving, or that your reaction time has slowed, or that you have been experiencing dizziness or other symptoms that affect your ability to drive.
- If you're experiencing any physical symptoms or changes, I'd recommend your seeing a physician for a medical evaluation or eye exam.
- I also would want to know what, exactly, it is about driving you're afraid of.
Is it all or any kind of driving? Driving while alone? Driving at night? Driving on busy streets? You could also try to desensitize yourself to your fear(s) by gradually exposing yourself to the feared activity, step by step in small increments, until you feel you've conquered it. (In such approaches it helps to use relaxation techniques to calm oneself before and, if necessary, after each step and to make sure the steps are small enough that any anxiety is manageable. ) I hope this gives you some avenues and options to consider for self-help. But do consider seeking professional help if your problem continues. There's no shame in using a professional's skills and input when warranted. Good luck.
